Vanessa Claire Stewart

​Vanessa Claire Stewart is an award winning actor/ playwright/producer for her work on Louis and Keely Live at the Sahara. (2010 Ovation award, best musical Geffen Playhouse) Her published play Stoneface about Buster Keaton was critically acclaimed and won the 2008 Production of the Year in at the Los Angeles Stage Raw awards.

Previously, Vanessa has worked for production companies Pistol Lady Productions and Walden Media during the development of Ray, Holes and The Chronicles of Narnia. Since then, she has produced several projects including Chase The Slut (Edinburgh Film Festival), How to Have a Happy Marriage and served as Executive Producer on Bed and Breakfast for Interlude Entertainment.

Vanessa also served as co-artistic director of LA's storied theater company Sacred Fools for 5 years, developing artists and producing successful new works such as Past Time, How We Got On and Bob DeRosa's Gifted.

Vanessa has had several TV projects in development: Storyville with Taylor Hackford at Leonardo DiCaprio’s company Appian Way. Real M*thr, a show about a group of older friends encountering motherhood for the first time- a finalist for the Sundance TV workshop. In addition, she’s produced and written for the Women’s film anthology Girls Girls Girls which included SXSW award winning film director Tracie Laymon.

Most recently, Vanessa has served as the Chief Creative Officer for Georgia production company StoryMill Entertainment. She just wrapped as co-producer on Tim Blake Nelson’s Life and Deaths of Wilson Shedd. Currently, she is producing a feature entitled The Hot Temp, a multi-generational office comedy written by her husband French Stewart. She recently received the 2025 Trailblazer Award for her work as a writer/producer from the Atlanta Women’s Film Festival.
